Pressure cook ½ cup tur dal with water and turmeric until soft and mashy.
In a separate pot, cook 1 cup of vegetables (carrot, drumstick, pumpkin, shallots, etc.) with water, turmeric, and salt until tender.
Add tamarind pulp, cooked tur dal, and salt to the vegetables.
Bring to boil, then add 1 tbsp Kiddos Foods Sambar Podi for authentic taste.
Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
Temper with oil, mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
